A growth mindset allows us to keep trying, to try different strategies, and to respond to challenges in more positive ways. Knowing that the brain can grow, change and become stronger in areas that are challenging right now can help students become more engaged when facing obstacles. This includes trying again, trying different strategies, and discovering how mistakes really do help us learn.
"YET"
One word. Three letters. Unlimited power!
Instead of focusing on just the final product, we focus on the entire process. Every step is important during the early years of learning, and it is important that we, as teachers, acknowledge all of the little steps leading up to success. Students are encouraged to use the yet mindset in all aspects of life.
Both parents and teachers have an important role to play; their roles do not replace but rather compliment and reinforce the other's role, thus providing students with a consistent message of support. Communication between parents and teachers is a key part of our program, by working together to support your child, we will help establish a love for learning.
